Find guidance on maintenance responsibilities, registration, GPS support, payoff documentation, trailer transfers, and returns.
Mercer Trailer Leasing provides administrative and asset support throughout the active lease while helping lessees understand the responsibilities that come with maintaining the equipment.
Use the resources below to find the information you need.

Mercer Trailer Leasing trailers are leased “AS IS.” Lessees are responsible for maintaining the trailer in safe operating condition throughout the lease.
Responsibilities include:
Routine maintenance
Repairs
Tires
Brakes
Lights
Other normal maintenance and repair needs
If a DOT-related issue occurs within the first 30 days of the lease, contact Mercer Trailer Leasing so the issue can be reviewed and our team can determine whether assistance may be available.

While your trailer is actively leased through Mercer Trailer Leasing, our team manages the administrative responsibilities associated with the equipment.
Our support includes:
Trailer titles
Registration and licensing
License plates
Registration renewals
Trailer documentation
Registration records
Contact us if you have a question about your plate, registration paperwork, renewal, or other trailer documentation.

Every Mercer Trailer Leasing trailer comes equipped with a GPS asset tracker.
Our team manages:
GPS installation
GPS asset records
GPS-related support
Issues involving the installed tracker
If you believe the tracker is missing, damaged, or not operating correctly, contact Mercer Trailer Leasing for assistance.

Once your trailer is paid off—either through an early buyout or completion of the scheduled lease term—Mercer Trailer Leasing will contact you to begin the title-transfer process.
You will receive a Paid-Off Trailer Packet containing:
Original title
Bill of sale
Title-transfer requirements
Other applicable documentation
The packet can be mailed to you or picked up at the Mercer Trailer Leasing office.

A leased trailer cannot be transferred directly to another lessee.
The trailer must first be returned to Mercer Trailer Leasing for inspection and preparation through our in-house shop. We will make every effort to accommodate the transition, but the existing lease terms are not guaranteed for the next lessee.
Contact our team before making arrangements involving another party.

Contact Mercer Trailer Leasing before returning a trailer. Return requirements, payoff deadlines, inspection procedures, and other conditions may vary depending on the lease and circumstances.

Do not transfer, release, or return a trailer to another location without first working directly with Mercer Trailer Leasing.

If you leave Mercer Transportation before your trailer is paid off, you have 10 days to either pay off the trailer in full or return it to Mercer Trailer Leasing.
Additional return requirements and inspection procedures may apply. Contact Mercer Trailer Leasing immediately to review your options.
