Frequently Asked Questions

The information below answers many of the questions we receive about Mercer Trailer Leasing. Because equipment availability, eligibility requirements, and lease terms may vary, contact our team for information specific to your situation.

Lease availability and eligibility depend on the available equipment and the circumstances of the applicant. Contact Mercer Trailer Leasing to discuss your needs and determine which options may be available.

Mercer Trailer Leasing offers 48' flatbeds and 53' step decks. Inventory, manufacturers, models, years, payments, and lease terms are subject to change.

Call, email, or contact Mercer Trailer Leasing through the website to request the current availability list. Our team will explain the available equipment and the next steps in the leasing process.

Depending on the trailer, the list may include the trailer number, year, make, model, monthly payment, lease terms, and the number of months remaining on the lease.

No. Trailer numbers are assigned by Mercer Trailer Leasing based on internal equipment-numbering requirements. For Mercer Transportation contractors, the assignment may also reflect the contractor’s unit number and previous trailer-leasing history.

Step-deck availability is limited, and additional eligibility requirements may apply. Mercer Transportation contractors may be evaluated using factors such as service performance, safety standing, outstanding loans, and revenue.

Mercer Transportation contractors interested in a step deck should contact Robbie Coogle or Matt Heintzman about the waiting list.

Trailer lease payments are made monthly. The payment method and any applicable deductions will be explained during the leasing process.

For contractors leased to Mercer Transportation, the trailer payment is included in the contractor’s monthly deductions.

During an active lease, Mercer Trailer Leasing handles the trailer’s registration, licensing, license plates, registration renewals, and related documentation.

The lessee is responsible for routine maintenance, repairs, tires, brakes, lights, and keeping the trailer in safe operating condition throughout the lease. Mercer Trailer Leasing trailers are leased “AS IS.”

Contact Mercer Trailer Leasing as soon as possible. Our team will review the issue and determine whether assistance may be available. This provision does not replace the lessee’s responsibility for routine maintenance and repairs.

Contact Mercer Trailer Leasing if the installed GPS tracker is missing, damaged, or not operating correctly. Our team manages GPS installation, asset records, and tracker-related support.

An early buyout may be available depending on the lease. Contact Mercer Trailer Leasing to request payoff information and review the requirements that apply to your agreement.

Mercer Trailer Leasing will contact you to begin the title-transfer process. You will receive a Paid-Off Trailer Packet containing the original title, bill of sale, title-transfer requirements, and other applicable documents.

The packet can be mailed to you or picked up at the Mercer Trailer Leasing office.

No. The trailer must first be returned to Mercer Trailer Leasing for inspection and preparation through our in-house shop.

We will make every effort to accommodate the transition, but the existing lease terms are not guaranteed for the next lessee.

Contact Mercer Trailer Leasing immediately. Payoff deadlines, return requirements, inspection procedures, and other conditions may vary by lease and circumstance.

Do not transfer or release the trailer to another lessee without first working directly with Mercer Trailer Leasing.

You have 10 days to either pay off the trailer in full or return it to Mercer Trailer Leasing. Additional return requirements and inspection procedures may apply, so contact our team immediately to review your options.

Contact Mercer Trailer Leasing before returning the equipment.
